Author of "Legendary Cooks:
                Five Generations of NH Cooks"

I enjoy the reversal process of block printing. All the areas which are not going to print have to be carved out of the surface of the block and, of course, the printed copy will be the mirror image of what I've drawn on the block.

The way the block inks up and the way the ink transfers to the paper insures that no two prints are exactly alike. Also, I often go back over my block prints and add shading with watercolors that makes each print even more unique.
